Sandra & Marcio Objetos de Arte invites you get to know
the oriental carpet. Its luxury, beauty and extravagance. Hand-made
by more than one artisan, there is no perfect symmetry or regularity.
The value of each piece lies exactly in these small and differentiated
details.
Each carpet tells a story. Persians reached perfection with
sophisticated design, quality of raw materials and exquisite
combination of colors. Turks produce excellent carpets with
floral motifs influenced by neighboring Iran. The famous Hereke
and traditional pieces such as the Yahyali and the Dosemeali
come from Turkey. Caucasian carpets’ main characteristic
is the geometrical drawing, frequently depicting stylized stars,
dragons, trees and human figures. From Pakistan come carpets
reproducing the traditional Russian “Bukhara” drawings.
Exalting nature, Chinese carpets reflect, in their traditional
motifs, the philosophy of the people. Mythological entities,
birds and flowers are woven in high quality materials such as
pure silk, from the famous Silk Road.
